ABOUT

A career across performance, production, writing, electronic music and research — presented here as one connected body of work rather than a sequence of separate identities.

BIOGRAPHY

CHAS BURNS

Chas Burns is a writer, researcher, filmmaker, performer and music producer whose work spans theatre, screen, books, electronic music and research into automated systems and artificial intelligence.

The archive reflects a long-running interest in how stories move between forms: a screenplay can become a film and then a novel; a production can generate photography, music and performance; scientific or philosophical questions can become white papers, fiction and systems experiments.

Current research examines automated systems, machine authorship, creative cognition, identity, digital culture and the preservation of human judgement inside increasingly synthetic environments.
